Remember those SAT word analogies? X relates to Y like A relates to B, or in some kind of obscure notation, X:Y::A:B
(Here’s one to help wake up that corner of your brain… cat:meow::pig:oink.)
A couple of nights ago as I was working hard to maintain the revolving triangle pose in a yoga class, our yoga teacher, Regina, talked about how while doing yoga you really learn about your muscles, your tendons, the connections therein and how your particular body works (or doesn’t): You learn where you are weak and tight, and where you are strong and flexible; what areas could use some additional attention, and so on.
[Enter, stage right, above head:light bulb] This sounded a lot like the way journal writing helps illuminate your mind, your attitude, your thinking, your feeling…. okay, your whole life…
Ergo, yoga:body::journal writing:life
